NOTHING LESS THAN A PIONEER

Dear

Robert Scott was the first person to reach North Pole. Edmund Hillary – the first to climb Mt. Everest.

You are amongst first to have “Applied online” using World-Wide-Job’s job-alert email service. That makes you a pioneer too.

Soon you will be able to “apply online” from your mobile itself. Just hold on for a couple of weeks. I will keep you informed. Who knows, you may get a chance to be the FIRST person on the Earth, to “Apply Online” from your mobile !

Unless, of course, you already got interviewed and appointed by one of the Advertisers, whom we forwarded your Image Builder resume, as per your instruction.

Even that could make you a pioneer and if so, I would be happy to hear from you. Feel free to phone me on (M ) 3-850-5801.

NO RECAP ON JAM !

Dear Friend,

A TV serial that runs into many episodes, shows you very briefly, what you might have missed seeing in the previous episode. So your “Link” is maintained.

Not so on World-Wide-Jobs .

If you miss looking at your job-alert SMSes on your mobile for a day and delete inadvertently, there is no way to retrieve what you have missed.

These job-alerts are lost forever. There is no ReCap tomorrow !

For good reason too.

At World-Wide-Jobs, every single job-alert corresponds to job-Advts downloaded from various jobsites, during last 24 HOURS only. Only FRESH job-advts posted by corporates on the previous day- not a day earlier.

So you know that these vacancies have been created only a few hours ago – not hanging around for last 60 days ( -as artificially kept “line” on most jobsites, even when those vacancies have been filled long ago ! )

When you click “Apply online” through JAM, you are amongst those few whose ImageBuilder resumes, the Advertiser will get to see.

For those executives who miss-out on today’s JAM, there is no “ ReCap”.

You cannot afford to miss a JAM episode.

IMAGE BUILDER

Dear Friend

Image Builder: Corporate Recruiter’s only choice

Were you thrilled – and a bit intrigued – when you converted your plain text email resume to

Image Builder

On World-Wide-Jobs  ?

Intrigued by your functional Exposure profile ?

Of course, you have guessed right.

While constructing your profile, our Artificial Intelligence (AI) software mimic-ed the brain of a HR Manager, as he would come across various keywords in your resume and the context in which these keywords  were used.

But why guess ?

You can prove this.

Update your text resume with some more “Keywords” which reflect your  SKILLS / KNOWLEDGE / EXPERTISE much more comprehensively.

Then come back and repost your updated resume on World-Wide-Jobs  and click “Convert To Image Builder”.

Voila  !

A brand new profile with a different “Raw Score” and a higher “Percentile” !

But that is not the reason I write to you today.

While going through hundreds of Image Builders, I found that,

Ø    Some fields/values are incorrect or missing ( especially in the “Experience” section ) eg : Left ( m/y_________ / salary etc.

Ø    Monthly Salaries are mentioned ( instead of Annual )

Ø    Only 2/3 recent jobs are mentioned ( instead of covering entire career starting with current/last job and going backward to the very first job). This means total exp. ( years) does not add-up to the actual figure.

Ø    Job durations are not listed in proper ( reverse) chronological sequence.

This could cause serious mis-representation when “salary-graph” gets plotted.

Ø    “Name of Employer” is mentioned “Private”

I strongly urge that you revisit WWJ and thoroughly edit and validate – your ImageBuilder, as soon as possible.

Please remember that, when you click  “Apply Online” against any job-alert,  not only your text resume but your ImageBuilder too, gets emailed to the prospective employer. For a simple reason.

HR Manager don’t want to see a plain text resume anymore !

An ImageBuilder enables HR Manager to quickly figure out,

Ø    Your Core Competence     ( Profile Related Keywords )
Ø    Your Professional Standing( Percentile Score )
Ø    Your Salary growth through your entire career.

It is up to you to ensure that your ImageBuilder doest not become your ImageSpoiler !

World-Wide-Jobs

Make sure that your latest text resume contains those "Keywords" which adequately reflect the additional skills/knowledge/expertise that you have acquired. Including such keywords in your text resume, could dramatically improve your Percentile Score - your "standing" amongst thousands of co-professionals.

When you submit/validate your text resume on World-Wide-Jobs, you also get to see graphically,

How your current salary compares with your co-professionals.

Too bad HR Managers cannot see this graph !

JOB ALERTS

Dear

By now you must have received your first set of job-alerts on email.

Being the very first set, we matched your job-preferences with the job-advts. Compiled over the last 6 days. This was to ensure that you got, at least a few relevant job-alerts.

From today onwards, we will match your job- preferences with only the fresh jobs posted on different jobsites during the last 24 hours only. This might, possibly, bring down the no. of job-alerts that you get.

But,  more than that, the no. of job-alerts that you get, depends to a much greater extent on your selection of “Keywords” in the job- preference form.

You will recall that you are supposed to select/enter keywords ( in job-preference form), for

è City
è Designation
è Industry
è Skills

We found that executives had no problem with selection of correct “Words” for “CITY” & “DESIGNATION”. But when it came to choosing the most appropriate words for “Industry” and “Skills”, we found quite a few WRONG entries, resulting in none/few matching job-advts.

For example, following words, entered by some executives under “INDUSTRY” are NOT describing “Industry” :-

i    Oracle                                 i    Systems
i    Industrial                             i    RD
i    Software Company                 i    Design
i    e-learning                            i    Engineers
i    Web Designer                       i    Corporate
i    Edible Oil                             i    Instruments
i    Soap                                   i    Marketing
i    CAD                                    i    Purchases
i    UG                                      i    Multimedia Codes
i    SAP                                    i    image processing
i    Bev                                     i    DSP

In a similar way , following words used by some under “SKILL” are not representing “Skills” :

i    Innovative                           i    Purchases
i    Corporate                             i    EXIM
i    Engineers
i    Rural

Apart from selecting in appropriate words, some other common errors, which we  found in the job- preference forms, were :

Ø    Wrong spellings ( although word chosen was appropriate)
Ø    Use of “and”, ( Instead of separating two words by a “Comma”)
Ø    Joining two words ( instead of required space between two )

The  purpose  behind this long  email is to  request you  to go  back and  recheck  your Job-preferences ( and edit, if required ), so that you are not disappointed with the alerts that you get.

The most important thing to remember is to use those words, which you want your desirable job-advt to contain. These are the words, if found in a job-advt, are likely to attract your attention/interest and make you read it.
